Headmistress Annual Address

Cherished M.G.I.S Family,

Welcome to the 2020/2021 Academic year!!

That last school year was exceptional for the whole school community and the world as a whole. I take solace that although we all went through challenging times as a community, we remain strong, resolute to continue living, supportive to the community and the world at large.

On the 16th of March 2020 we had to close the school premises due to COVID-19. I will like to say a big thank you to all our M.G.I.S teachers and staff who ensured that teaching and learning never stopped although school premises were closed. We could not have had our annual end of year programmes and graduation without the hard work of teachers and staff who endeavoured to
make sure our students ended the academic year in an exceptional way.

A bigger thank you to our precious parents and guardians that also ensured that even at home students completed the year. We appreciate parents’ effort in invigilating our 2nd term exams as well as working and guiding students during their online classes.

We are grateful for your consistent support throughout the 2019-2020 academic year.

We can all attest to the numerous changes the world is experiencing in all spheres due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We all witnessed how our school community as a whole adopted a pragmatic approach for the successful ending of the academic year. We as a family were able to sail through proving to all that we are flexible and resilient in this rapidly changing world. It’s in our DNA.

Morning Glory International School Management Board would like to share our reopening protocols with our treasured family members.

This plan was made out of several feedback received from Parents, Teachers, Alumni and some Students on the best possible roadmap we as a school should take. Government current policy and Health practitioner were engaged to help formulate the best way we can continue impacting our students through our brick & mortar structures and also using our virtual learning environment. We hope that this gives you the needed assurance of our unflinching commitment to ensuring learning continuity despite this global uncertainty.

Kindly take note of all the information within this document.

N.B: Management Board would like to duly inform you that the re-opening protocols and arrangements are subject
to change with or without prior notice to parents and guardians for the safety of students and teachers.

As always, you can call the office to make enquiries and receive clarifications. We hope to answer your concerns and achieve the ultimate aim of a safe learning continuity.

We pray for the best for the 2020/2021 Academic year

On behalf of the Management Board and Team, I wish to thank you once again for your support and pray God preserves us. I look forward to
seeing you in August 2020!

Stay Strong and Healthy.

Warmest regards,
Mrs. Vivian Takyi-Mensah

Headmistress
